Quest/Siebel
Quest International is the flavor development company that purchased
the product development group from the Siebel Institute.
This is a 5 gallon steam-fired system.
The Cereal Cooker (second from he left) and Mash Tun (on the right)
both have variable speed mixers. They feed a seperate hot water-jacketed
Lauter Tun. The pump (below the Cereal Cooker and Mash Tun) is a
variable speed flexible impeller pump - it move the cereal and mash to
the Lauter Tun (and back again)
The sparge water from the Hot Liquor Tank (far left - top photo)
and sweet wort from the Lauter Tun (below the Control Panel) are moved
at the same time with a digitally controled dual head parastaltic pump
(you can control in the lpm). The Brew Kettle (far right) is set up with
a autoshift (from high fire to low fire) to prevent boilovers and is also
equiped with a glycol cold Vapor Recovery System (for analyzing the boiloff
).
The wort is then pumped with a variable speed #4 Thomsen
pump to the whirlpool (far right) and then through a small glycol cooled
plate heat exchanger (botom right).
